MUSTARD IV – Ch. 11 | KT OLLA

BACK then in the 1970’s, husband-men wanted sons, not daughters... in Nigeria of that time.

And so many homes parted; and women who stayed, struggled “to give their men a son.”

It was the season of male children.

Now in those times, there lived a young lady separated from her husband for the same cause.

For her man only wanted sons. And all she had were daughters.

And so, the man left her and married some other woman. Someone he thought would give him a son.

With that, the young lady became single and lived her youth in the company of believers, as she was one too.

Now in Morrow’s walk as a Christian, he met this lady. And he loved her.

She was 30 years of age when he met her in June of ’85. But he wouldn’t mind.

She was once married and divorced. Then she’d got two daughters to care for.

‘But who’s got no folk?’ the man would say. He’d got stories, too – by the way.

Joshua himself was just a new convert. So, “love and marriage should be like secondary matters.”

But the elder felt that his age was primary enough. So he didn’t waste time.

Morrow went for the beauty who caught his eyes. And this time, there was no panic around.

Nothing stood in-between, and so he asked for love and got a great answer.

For the woman was equally expecting him.

Well, the young lady was a disciple of Elton. And so after her divorce, the older man had prophesied quite before she moved to Banji’s town...

While Jo Morrow still hadn’t known the Lord.

That day, she leaned against his bookshelf, as Elton spoke the words.

That God had been training her for His minister. And that he was not saved as of then.

Those words were hope and promise. That she would meet a man; and that man – her new man, was God’s choice.

When the lady wondered about everything, she didn’t know what to say.

She queried the fact that the fellow hadn’t known Christ. But then she was dazed when she met him.

For he hadn’t believed, and now he did.

It blew her mind.

Then the days before Morrow approached her, the lady heard from God again.

The man He had prepared for her would come.

And so, when the school teacher went to her, she knew she had seen this before. She knew this was that man.

And still, she wondered.

She searched through scripture to be sure. She asked questions from Christ’s disciples.

She’d known the Lord’s command about remarriage, when He taught disciples on Mount Olive.

Now she saw this move and found it new.

But then, she found answers. As God’s Spirit gave her insight.

She read:

Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband.

But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife.

But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her.

And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him.

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now are holy.

But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace.

(This was Paul’s First Epistle to the Corinthians VII. 10 – 15.)

Now the lady felt sure and said yes. So they married in 3 weeks.

Jo Morrow was 60 years old, and he found Grace.

Joshua’s wife was called Grace.

Knighted Again – Ch.13 | KT OLLA

MAQWELA caught the smile on Nile’s face as he turned back to him. He knew why the boy smiled, yet he liked him more. Those were some things of innocence that he missed. The king liked people who wouldn’t cower when he used power. Unlike how he’d tremble as a boy when his late father abused the right. Yes, he liked folks who still retained their peace as they grew. Like those cute youngsters listening to him. So the monarch resumed, but he preferred to go the earnest way. ‘Now like I said earlier, that nobody enters here except Maqwela passes them – you must also know that nobody hears the things I’ll be speaking now unless we tell them! ‘Now I know you’re smart enough to know what I said – and what I left unsaid!’ The duo braced up and gestured with a nod. They knew the weight of that sentence and were ready to keep the monarch’s secret. They knew they were about to hear a blast. And so they braced up for it. Right then the middle-aged heaved a deep breath, crossed his arms over his ch...

Sons of the Flaming Throne 2 – Ch. 9 | KT OLLA

ABISHUM wasn’t done speaking. So she picked up on the matter as things were bound to change. She spoke: ‘See, it was a bedroom cry for Aleph. But not until the day things were shoved in her face… ‘And that day she gave up on hoping! ‘Well, what Aleph thought was the reason why Beth couldn’t marry, was different from what it was with people. ‘She used to think it was because there was no man in her house to ask the daughter from. As is our customary practice in Israel.  ‘But when a drunken man shoved it in her face one night, it hurt her too much what people say. ‘“No one will marry your daughter, woman! Why will anyone do? When death hides in her bosom like it hid in yours. Or why did your husband die? ‘“Look, if you don’t know it – your family is cursed! You only have one child in a nation of plenty. ‘“God has prospered Israel with many children like the sea sand. But what do your family bear? Only one! ‘“So, who will want your cursed daughter for his son to love? You really don’t...

Wanted Here – Ch.23 | KT OLLA

BEAKERS broke and crashed on the ground. So the splinters went littering the laboratory. Still the one who caused the damage only stood and watched… And then she walked out of the place without looking back. It was as if the 28-year-old didn’t cared a moment. But she cared too much she cried a bucket. June Martinez had stepped in her laboratory right behind her home. It was a facility sitting on an acre of land that equally hosted their large villa. The property was both home and office to the brilliant couple. They had their villa furnished with everything comfort. Then they got two labs built into a structure behind it. With only a glass partition in-between. Carl did his work in one part of the structure, while June used the other part as her laboratory. Now it’d been quite a while June had wanted to return to her lab. She once only talked about getting back and wouldn’t dare to step a foot in the lab. Then months passed and she made more progress. She got to put on her coat to retu...
