Wanted Here – Ch.49 | KT OLLA

THAT Monday morning when Peter submitted his evidence at the Jamaican court, news flew across the waters and reached Cannon University.

The lecturers heard that some new evidence had surfaced. It was still during the court session.

No, the evidence wasn’t a small thing. For it would pin the murder of Lucius Barnabas to a Cannon man.

So, phone calls were made and texts sent. News went around in circles, and meetings were held.

Then classes were suddenly not holding, as Cannon teachers ran from pillar to post.

The new evidence had caught the lecturers by surprise.

Barbar had assured the school that the case would be closed. But here was a new case popping up.

And this new one was no psyche murder or psychomicide. It was real murder. It was homicide.

Cannon wanted a counter. They wanted to prepare to brave the coming wind.

But then it began to dawn on the teachers that this was no simple wind.

It was a storm. A rainstorm.

And so, they feared how much it’d shake up them all up. And how many big logs would’ve fallen after the pour.

But again, news reached the folks in the middle of their meetings.

The audio isn’t perfectly audible. So it will be sent to the forensics for authentication, clarity and voice identification.

Now everyone concerned knew what this meant. They knew all too well that the truth would soon be revealed.

Even still, when those lecturers got the message, they sighed with relief.

It was like their needed break to get their acts together. So they settled back, then began a new fight.

They began a new race.

◘◘◘

It was that same day in the Caribbean Islands and there was a new race starting already. It was a frenzied one between Pendulum and Cannon.

Yes, Pendulum Bros was the first to get all hands on deck for the forensics.

They hired a security team and used a mobile tracking system to follow the evidence.

They decided to monitor the file to and fro the forensic laboratory. They’d do everything to protect their evidence and avoid compromise.

Yes, Peter Pedro knew the recording wasn’t audible enough when he presented it in court.

He was quite aware that the thing would be sent to the forensics. So he had prepared for this.

Now the lawyer could have just gotten it digitally separated for clarity. But he knew the authenticity of the evidence would be questioned if he tampered with it.

So, what he had done in court was just the show. And it had worked to intimidate his opponent.

Yet Peter wasn’t ready to give the defense any moment of respite so that they can regroup.

He wanted to hit them real hard that planning would be a luxury too much to afford, while trying to survive.

So then, the young man got Pendulum up on this. The company placed a tracking device on the court vehicles that would form the convoy heading to the forensic laboratory.

They did that before the court session had begun that morning.

Then they offered to join the train behind with their monitoring convoy.

Yes, the law firm got its young minds to follow the trail. It motivated its lawyers, paid security operatives, and got wheels on the roads...

Everything to ensure that their proof wasn’t stolen nor tampered with by Cannon.

Now when they arrived at the National Forensics, their destination, Peter followed right into the audio department.

He simply would’ve liked to enter the studio laboratory, where the analysis would be done. But he was only allowed as far as the hallway of the unit.

Mr. Pedro therefore sat in the hallway all day, watching and waiting to hear the result of the test.

Well, he had raced as fast as he could, and put everything in place for an authentic result.

But there again at the end of the lane stood Cannon, waiting for him to land.

For Cannon didn’t bother hitting the road like Pendulum. The giant only got their hands to work.

The lecturers wanted to avoid being seeing in their own fight. But again, they wanted the audio recording.

Therefore they looked through the government directory of National Forensics to see if there was anyone they shared a history with.

Someone they could call their own.

Well, they found someone. And he was the director heading the ministry.

He was a reputable alumnus. And they’d just honored him with a doctorate.

So Cannon put a call through him and told him they needed him.

With that call, the school picked up at the finish line, and waited.

For the man got on the move the instant he got the phone call.

MUSTARD I – Ch. 7 | KT OLLA

NOW it had rained all morning this day. And the sun was finally tearing through clouds to take the day’s glory. It was a brief break for the villages of Ede’s farmlands. As they rested from taking turns in harvesting yams. The town’s harvest season of yam and cassava tubers were in the rains... So they worked double to get them stored in barns and sold in markets – to avoid early rot in the wet weather. Yes, the crops were sources of flours and flakes for main foods. And several kinds of yam – like the ewùrà, ebòlò and the white yam, were also prepared as meals. So, everyone was out going about their own business those rest days... The farmers would go for a routine check on their farm every morning. And return earlier than the time to gather for talks by evening. Every evening, the men would sit under the shade of trees, and play board games amid talk and drinks. They’d talk about everything. From the ruler to their people. And to their wives and children. The young Moro chose to go a...

Knighted Again – Ch.13 | KT OLLA

MAQWELA caught the smile on Nile’s face as he turned back to him. He knew why the boy smiled, yet he liked him more. Those were some things of innocence that he missed. The king liked people who wouldn’t cower when he used power. Unlike how he’d tremble as a boy when his late father abused the right. Yes, he liked folks who still retained their peace as they grew. Like those cute youngsters listening to him. So the monarch resumed, but he preferred to go the earnest way. ‘Now like I said earlier, that nobody enters here except Maqwela passes them – you must also know that nobody hears the things I’ll be speaking now unless we tell them! ‘Now I know you’re smart enough to know what I said – and what I left unsaid!’ The duo braced up and gestured with a nod. They knew the weight of that sentence and were ready to keep the monarch’s secret. They knew they were about to hear a blast. And so they braced up for it. Right then the middle-aged heaved a deep breath, crossed his arms over his ch...

Sons of the Flaming Throne 2 – Ch. 9 | KT OLLA

ABISHUM wasn’t done speaking. So she picked up on the matter as things were bound to change. She spoke: ‘See, it was a bedroom cry for Aleph. But not until the day things were shoved in her face… ‘And that day she gave up on hoping! ‘Well, what Aleph thought was the reason why Beth couldn’t marry, was different from what it was with people. ‘She used to think it was because there was no man in her house to ask the daughter from. As is our customary practice in Israel.  ‘But when a drunken man shoved it in her face one night, it hurt her too much what people say. ‘“No one will marry your daughter, woman! Why will anyone do? When death hides in her bosom like it hid in yours. Or why did your husband die? ‘“Look, if you don’t know it – your family is cursed! You only have one child in a nation of plenty. ‘“God has prospered Israel with many children like the sea sand. But what do your family bear? Only one! ‘“So, who will want your cursed daughter for his son to love? You really don’t...
