Wanted Here – Ch.46 | KT OLLA

CARL and June were all ears, and neither of them had any questions. They just wanted to hear more.

And Marcuz López had more.

“Now let me break it down with reasoning. Here is it: Satan has just three goals in this world. To steal, to kill, and to destroy.

“He gets these three things done by lies. That is why he is the father of all liars.

“You see, his children share the same goals.

“If Cannon robbed Mrs. Martinez of her genius, what will they do with it? What have they done with it?

“None of the lecturers could complete any of her abandoned work, so they’ve got nothing to gain.

“But still, they stole because they are their father’s children.

“Their purpose was to rob her. And then, murder her genius. And then destroy her!”

His listeners sighed right then.

“Now, Jesus says He is the Shepherd. So no one get to the flock without going through Him. Because He’s at the door keeping watch over us.”

“But we are Christians,” answered Carl. “We all go to church, you know.”

Marcuz responded. “Mr. Martinez, you see, being a Christian is not the same as being Christ’s sheep.

“That is why the Lord says His sheep knows His voice.

“There are many folks who say they belong to His fold. But those who are really His know His voice.”

June breathed a small sigh.

Then she mused aloud. “If I knew His voice, too, maybe I would have heard Him stop me from choosing Cannon!”

Marcuz looked at her and said this.

“Or maybe you’d have gone there still. And then, come out unharmed like Fidelis Lourdes.”

Peter pondered on those words for a bit of time. His heart was yielding.

But then, in the next moment, he waved the words and just spoke his heart.

“But the deed is done already! We don’t need to be His sheep anymore! What can be worse than what has happened?”

“So much, sir,” countered Marcuz. “So much can be worse!

“You will lose the suit like you’re already doing. Then Cannon will sue Mr. and Mrs. Martinez.

“And at almost the same time, they will sue Pendulum.

“They don’t intend to win the case. They will just ensure you’re troubled enough for others to learn from you.

“They will make a scape goat of you.”

Peter laid back and swallowed.

Marcuz faced the woman.

“Now on a personal note, when you lose the suit, the little recovery you’ve made so far will go down the drain.

“So, you will crash again. This time it will be real hopelessness!”

The three seated people heaved a deep sigh. They had never thought beyond the court case.

Still here were the words, bringing them to face the life beyond lawsuits.

The ifs and what-ifs of psychomicide fights.

What if they lost? And if they did lose, what would they do?

Carl voiced that question.

“What do we do now?” he sighed.

Marcuz was ready. So he answered him.

“You should become Christ’s sheep who rely completely on the Shepherd. Then you can have the Shepherd fight the wolves for you!”

Those words, they were like the daylight dawning on the Martinez. The couple was exhausted already, as it was.

Carl wished he could go back to their lives before pyschomicide.

And June wished she could fast-forward time and see the end of everything in a day. Find her healing, and find justice.

Still while the couple wished for both the future and the past, here was the present that they dreaded, being presented to them in a brand new form…

One that they had never seen before.

Here was the Now handed to Carl and June Martinez… having both bliss for yesterday and a hope for the future.

Carl was wise, and June was smart. Then all there was to know about knowledge, they knew it all.

But then again, they had the thirst and hunger for a tutor in their times of doubt. And a fighter in times of trouble.

They were two already. But they wanted a new company. As their desert dunes got hotter, they wanted a better shade.

So when Marcuz spoke the words, they knew the weight of it. For those words were not new to them.

They’d heard it from several people as they grew. And they’d heard things like it in church every now and then.

But this day, those words came with all their sense and meaning. They came as light beams dawning on them.

Therefore the couple felt broken, and decided to yield their sword and armor.

They wanted to let go of them all, and answer to the gentle call knocking at the door.

So the words dropped like a rehearsed one.

“Please pray for us,” the Martinez chorused.

At that moment, Peter realized he was the odd one… as he was the only one quiet. So he decided to do the same thing.

“...For us!” he joined the couple at the end.

Marcuz López led his listeners in a repentant prayer. As Carl and June bowed their heads and heart to God.

June scrolled through her life in her mind, and cried. She wondered why she never knew, never heard this much.

She wondered why nobody ever got to tell her this. So she shed a tear that she didn’t know.

Peter Pedro turned to observe her when he saw her crying.

For Peter didn’t follow the prayers, nor did he close his eyes. He was busy wondering how their hostage could take them hostage.

Carl and June finished the session feeling different. They thought they’d suddenly become more thoughtful and responsible.

That they’d grown a lot deeper in their frame of thought.

But they were reborn as a new kind of being. They’d become brand new…

Spirit, soul, and everything.

Sons of the Flaming Throne 2 – Ch. 9 | KT OLLA

ABISHUM wasn’t done speaking. So she picked up on the matter as things were bound to change. She spoke: ‘See, it was a bedroom cry for Aleph. But not until the day things were shoved in her face… ‘And that day she gave up on hoping! ‘Well, what Aleph thought was the reason why Beth couldn’t marry, was different from what it was with people. ‘She used to think it was because there was no man in her house to ask the daughter from. As is our customary practice in Israel.  ‘But when a drunken man shoved it in her face one night, it hurt her too much what people say. ‘“No one will marry your daughter, woman! Why will anyone do? When death hides in her bosom like it hid in yours. Or why did your husband die? ‘“Look, if you don’t know it – your family is cursed! You only have one child in a nation of plenty. ‘“God has prospered Israel with many children like the sea sand. But what do your family bear? Only one! ‘“So, who will want your cursed daughter for his son to love? You really don’t...

MUSTARD I – Ch. 7 | KT OLLA

NOW it had rained all morning this day. And the sun was finally tearing through clouds to take the day’s glory. It was a brief break for the villages of Ede’s farmlands. As they rested from taking turns in harvesting yams. The town’s harvest season of yam and cassava tubers were in the rains... So they worked double to get them stored in barns and sold in markets – to avoid early rot in the wet weather. Yes, the crops were sources of flours and flakes for main foods. And several kinds of yam – like the ewùrà, ebòlò and the white yam, were also prepared as meals. So, everyone was out going about their own business those rest days... The farmers would go for a routine check on their farm every morning. And return earlier than the time to gather for talks by evening. Every evening, the men would sit under the shade of trees, and play board games amid talk and drinks. They’d talk about everything. From the ruler to their people. And to their wives and children. The young Moro chose to go a...

MUSTARD II – Ch. 8 | KT OLLA

NOW Oji and Daleka went in to meet their brother as his wife hurried out of the house. ‘You meet me well, brothers,’ Morrow smiled as he dished his food. ‘Care to join for breakfast?’ ‘Oh we just had ours, big bro,’ Oji answered for them. ‘Thanks for the offer.’ ‘In that case, will you—?’ ‘Oh never mind,’ their youngest smiled, ‘we can sit and talk while you go on eating. We also have things to share with you.’ He looked to his partner for agreement and Oji nodded back. Yes, it was the culture there for someone to invite their guest to table when the latter meets them dining. Then, it was the right ethic for the guest to decline with thanks. Morrow glanced at them. ‘Oh really? Have your seat then. ‘And meanwhile, you did a lot helping last night – I appreciate it. Please tell your wives, too, we’re grateful.’ ‘Well, that is nothing,’ Oji waved a hand. ‘We are grateful that you returned! That you came home alive!’ Morrow looked at them and smiled. He had just finished dishing, so he smi...
