Wanted Here – Ch.45 | KT OLLA

MARCUZ López picked Carl’s question. And he wanted to answer him now.

It takes something more to suppress people, Carl had heard him say. And something more to kill their sense of being.

Carl and June were eager to know that “something more.” So Marcuz told them pointblank.

“It is the Spiritual. The Unseen which controls our seen world!”

Carl made a little smirk. “Why are you wasting our time here?

“I went through your bio and saw that you’re the scholar type. A chemist for that matter. So, I assumed this conversation will go smooth.

“Now I know little about your field ’cause I only did the basics in high school.

“But one thing is sure, you aren’t communicating right now. And you should be!

“At least, let your senior colleague get you, if not us!” He threw a hand across June’s path.

“So now, can you speak in simple language that can be understood by June and everyone here?”

Marcuz smiled, and then went again.

“I will simplify it now, sir: A kid that has never walked can be talked out of walking from the very start.

“Even when they’ve got all things going well for them.

“In the same way, a poor or average pupil at sports can be talked out of doing it since they are already lacking.

“But how is it possible that a person, who hasn’t only done lab work all her life, but also worked for the biggest companies on ground-breaking researches—

“How can this person be talked out of working in the laboratory?”

Carl went again. And it was as if he’d got the answer before Marcuz raised the question.

“You answer us, young man! You are the Cannon person here. How did you ruin my wife? What did you do to her?”

“That is it sir! She lost herself that easy to those evil folks because she’s got no one at her door?

“So she was plundered and robbed. With no one to defend or protect her.”

Carl was quick. “I was there for her the whole time! And even now, I am fighting for June!”

Marcuz explained.

“When I said no one was there to defend or fight for her, I do not mean ‘man.’ Her defense and protection isn’t what man can give.

“Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego were going to be thrown in the furnace to die. That was the logic; that was the reasonable thing.

“Probably their wives and kids were there, helplessly watching. They couldn’t go into the furnace with them. And they couldn’t stop Nebuchadnezzar.

“But there was a guard at the door of their lives. So He didn’t let the fire into their body. He stopped the fire as hot as the flames were.

“Now this is what I mean—”

Marcuz gave a quick glance at Peter. But the man was still indifferent and uninterested.

So the former knew that Peter wasn’t still in for their talk. Yet again, he hoped he would join them.

So he faced the three folks and spoke.

“You see, after Cannon lawyers got your late witness’s statement nullified, they brought up a name—Fidelis Lourdes.

“Immediately they brought up that name in court, and countered your psychomicide claim by him, things went down the road for you.”

He turned to ask June.

“I believe you know Fidelis too, ma’am. He is the big name in chemistry nowadays.”

June nodded a yes. So Marcuz moved on.

“Fidelis studied at Cannon and graduated unscathed. But that wasn’t because those professors liked him or something.

“No, it was because they couldn’t rob the young man at all!”

June was interested. So she crossed her arms and listened.

“Fidelis Lourdes was a genius like you are, ma’am. In fact, Cannon offered him admission on scholarship the moment that they discovered him.

“But right under their watch, the guy went on to do big stuff. And he finished with good grades, unharmed.

“Still, you’ll see that as much as Cannon argue their case naming Lourdes, they never called him to speak in their defense.

“They didn’t even get him to comment on the case.

“Well, that’s because he is beyond their reach.

“He was their failure. So he wasn’t within their palms like Manuel Barnabas…

“Whom Cannon got to make false statements against his own cousin!”

Now Marcuz’s last sentence got Peter up. He suddenly got interested in the talk, and he wanted to ask questions…

Questions about the death of Lucius Barnabas, Manuel’s cousin.

But then Marcuz wouldn’t allow himself to be interrupted. He knew Peter wasn’t interested in his matter like he was in the investigation.

So when Lawyer Pedro made to talk, Marcuz raised a hand to silence him.

“Not now, Mr. Pedro. We do your questions later!”

The young chemist sounded stern that instant, and Peter pulled back.

Now the man realized that his hostage had been fully wakened. That he could move so freely.

He also saw that the dude wasn’t making any effort to escape. Or to report them to the police.

So he leaned back and kept quiet, and left him to go on talking.

Marcuz López turned to Carl and June, as he resumed his speech.

“Now you wonder how Fidelis Lourdes scaled through Cannon without getting hurt. Well, it’s only because he’s got the Protector.

“The same One who followed the three men into fire. And stood at the door of their lives, stopping the flames from getting through them.

“Fidelis is a Christian, a child of the living God. He is a true and committed Christian.

“He was my roommate when I just got to Cannon. So I know he doesn’t joke with God through the few years I knew him.

“Even now, God’s fear and reverence still reflect in his speech over the media.

“And so, his Savior saved him all the way…

“Even from Cannon!”

Sons of the Flaming Throne 2 – Ch. 20 | KT OLLA

DAVID had been reigning for about forty years already. And in those years of his reign in Israel, soldiers have stood and fallen for him. The warlord had conquered lands, conquered nations. He’d taken territories, subdued enemies. Yet as the monarch grew older and nations bowed to him, there remained no wars to fight; and so his valiant men had nothing doing. His soldiers settled in families and kept livestock. They became shepherds and keepers of vines. The great ones among them got involved in public duties and administration. Still, there were a few who didn’t change with the changing tide. And chief among them was Joab, commander of the army. No, it wasn’t that the man didn’t settle down with family or other civil matters. But Joab wasn’t quite settled enough when it came to his heart and attitude. The old man had been quite loyal to David through the long years. But ever since the time that wars were done with, he had lost his sense of purpose. Joab wasn’t all that interested in n...

ABISHUM wasn’t done speaking. So she picked up on the matter as things were bound to change. She spoke: ‘See, it was a bedroom cry for Aleph. But not until the day things were shoved in her face… ‘And that day she gave up on hoping! ‘Well, what Aleph thought was the reason why Beth couldn’t marry, was different from what it was with people. ‘She used to think it was because there was no man in her house to ask the daughter from. As is our customary practice in Israel.  ‘But when a drunken man shoved it in her face one night, it hurt her too much what people say. ‘“No one will marry your daughter, woman! Why will anyone do? When death hides in her bosom like it hid in yours. Or why did your husband die? ‘“Look, if you don’t know it – your family is cursed! You only have one child in a nation of plenty. ‘“God has prospered Israel with many children like the sea sand. But what do your family bear? Only one! ‘“So, who will want your cursed daughter for his son to love? You really don’t...

Sons Of The Flaming Throne – Ch.50 (Final Episode) | KT OLLA

PRINCE S’alom was beaten once; and then a second time. It was by two things that baffle the mind. For not only was he shocked that his men kept running for their lives. As they fled when they were chased past; and he wished they could stop to help. But now he was even more dazed when he saw that his father’s men left him hanging. He realized that those boys weren’t sent to kill him. Yes, the Third One knew this from the start. That if David had wanted him dead, he’d have been long dead and buried. Now it was clear that he’d been taking advantage of the just man’s goodwill. And this he knew himself. The prince faced this truth; so it knocked him off that David was still being kind. No, he’d so taken things for granted. Therefore, it happened that one of the chasers who ran past returned to find Joab when he saw the prince hanging. He told the captain what he saw and assured him the prince wasn’t dead. Now when the general saw that the boy didn’t kill him, he went all mad and furious. ‘W...
