Wanted Here – Ch.37 | KT OLLA

VINCENT Macaulay had given a long talk already. And he could tell from his listeners’s demeanor that they’d gotten his point.

But the man had concerns. He was concerned that his nephews might go the way of calculations again to follow what he’d just told them.

So he decided to spell out his words clearly.

He addressed the two young men.

“Marcuz and Luca, listen. I believe you wouldn’t take my talks as some code, and start decoding and calculating.

“I will tell you the weapon of your warfare in plain language.”

“Okay sir,” the boys replied.

Now he explained:

“If Paul said that these weapons aren’t physical, then you wonder how you can fight if you can’t bank on your guts, your wits, and brains.

“Well, I will show you how from the scriptures.”

He asked for a copy of Bible, so Marcuz went in and brought his copy. It was the Good News Bible, Today’s English Version.

Vincent told him he’d be reading Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians. Chapter 6 and verses 12 through 18.

So Marcuz sat down and opened the passage. Then he read it slowly.

For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.

So put on God’s armour now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy’s attacks; and after fighting to the end, you will still hold your ground.

So stand ready, with truth as a belt tight round your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate, and as your shoes the readiness to announce the Good News of peace.

At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One.

And accept salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you.

Do all this in prayer, asking for God’s help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for all God’s people.

Marcuz raised his head as he finished reading the passage. Then his uncle picked up in the instant.

“Now Marcuz, I guess you know what to do.”

“Yes sir,” the boy answered.

“Well, I will tell you all the same: Take your warfare spiritual cos the battle is spiritual—

“Be on your guard with truth – not with cutting corners. You’ll keep on losing if being cunning remains your way.

“So let righteousness be your defense, too. So you’ll be prepared to go anywhere Christ wants you to save lives.

“Stop running here and there, looking for cheap aids. There’s nothing fear has got to do offer you now.

“So for your defense, add bold faith. See, it’s so powerful it turns the devil’s threat into nothing.

“Now you know you’re not even covered if you’re not saved. So be sure of your salvation always.

“Then, launch your warfare on your knees in prayer.

“You can stand, you can walk around, you can lie on your face. But bow down your soul to God, and move the Almighty to fight.

“Move Him by His Word, the Scriptures—the Sword of the Holy Spirit.

“Now you know what to do, my boy. So, tell me when the results come!”

“All right, Uncle,” said Marcuz. “Thank you very much, sir.”

That day, the young chemist learned the art of spiritual warfare. And he chose to do his battles this way.

That day, an easy prey suddenly turned a force to fear.

MUSTARD I – Ch. 7 | KT OLLA

NOW it had rained all morning this day. And the sun was finally tearing through clouds to take the day’s glory. It was a brief break for the villages of Ede’s farmlands. As they rested from taking turns in harvesting yams. The town’s harvest season of yam and cassava tubers were in the rains... So they worked double to get them stored in barns and sold in markets – to avoid early rot in the wet weather. Yes, the crops were sources of flours and flakes for main foods. And several kinds of yam – like the ewùrà, ebòlò and the white yam, were also prepared as meals. So, everyone was out going about their own business those rest days... The farmers would go for a routine check on their farm every morning. And return earlier than the time to gather for talks by evening. Every evening, the men would sit under the shade of trees, and play board games amid talk and drinks. They’d talk about everything. From the ruler to their people. And to their wives and children. The young Moro chose to go a...

Sons of the Flaming Throne 2 – Ch. 9 | KT OLLA

ABISHUM wasn’t done speaking. So she picked up on the matter as things were bound to change. She spoke: ‘See, it was a bedroom cry for Aleph. But not until the day things were shoved in her face… ‘And that day she gave up on hoping! ‘Well, what Aleph thought was the reason why Beth couldn’t marry, was different from what it was with people. ‘She used to think it was because there was no man in her house to ask the daughter from. As is our customary practice in Israel.  ‘But when a drunken man shoved it in her face one night, it hurt her too much what people say. ‘“No one will marry your daughter, woman! Why will anyone do? When death hides in her bosom like it hid in yours. Or why did your husband die? ‘“Look, if you don’t know it – your family is cursed! You only have one child in a nation of plenty. ‘“God has prospered Israel with many children like the sea sand. But what do your family bear? Only one! ‘“So, who will want your cursed daughter for his son to love? You really don’t...

Knighted Again – Ch.13 | KT OLLA

MAQWELA caught the smile on Nile’s face as he turned back to him. He knew why the boy smiled, yet he liked him more. Those were some things of innocence that he missed. The king liked people who wouldn’t cower when he used power. Unlike how he’d tremble as a boy when his late father abused the right. Yes, he liked folks who still retained their peace as they grew. Like those cute youngsters listening to him. So the monarch resumed, but he preferred to go the earnest way. ‘Now like I said earlier, that nobody enters here except Maqwela passes them – you must also know that nobody hears the things I’ll be speaking now unless we tell them! ‘Now I know you’re smart enough to know what I said – and what I left unsaid!’ The duo braced up and gestured with a nod. They knew the weight of that sentence and were ready to keep the monarch’s secret. They knew they were about to hear a blast. And so they braced up for it. Right then the middle-aged heaved a deep breath, crossed his arms over his ch...
