Knighted Again – Ch.21 | KT OLLA

LIGHTS shone down on them, as cameras filmed at angles.

It was the set of a viral show that crossed two stars the world had been dying to wed.

They were solo artists who claimed they wouldn’t date each other. And had never been seen together.

But all the Islands went wild every time they released their tracks after each other. As they rapped bedroom stuff that gave dirty meanings when synced in cross sequence.

They were a different breed of stars, the other kind of shine. They called them Rich Hard and Dame Queen.

Now the online talk show kicked off and there were about 600K live viewers with likes of half the number.

It wasn’t what a Cape Island channel had ever recorded on the platform. Even youths across the borders liked to watch.

Then Richard and Dame – that was their offstage names, took the internet by a big surprise.

They went clumsy at their intro and made obvious efforts at bonding. They smiled and greeted, but everything seemed plastic.

Yes, the viewers understood that they were just meeting. But they expected them to be king and queen of acting.

Then the two asked for a moment off-screen… and mixed reactions poured after.

The comments flied.

I can’t believe this… our Rich Hard is so soft! Someone tell me, where are they running to?!

But this is so cool that I’m tearing up! Boy meets girl… these guys are fine dolls!

It’s their first time meeting guys, take it slow! Look, if it’s me in Dame’s seat, I’ll stand up for fresh air! That’s Rich Hard for you!

Dame Queen is no match for this guy! Can’t you see?!

Now those comments rolled when Dame stepped in, and said:

‘We’re sorry, but can we get a minute off-screen. You know it’s our first time together, so things can be a bit awkward.

‘Yeah, we ain’t friends as we always tell people...

‘So can we just sort this out behind camera and we’ll be real good, I promise!’

Still, Richard and Dame were a different kind of stars and the dons of theatrics.

For when they went off to talk, they talked like they’d got all these planned.

Like they’d been partners since ages.

◘◘◘

‘What d’ you think, Richie?’ the 21-year-old girl nudged her colleague.

‘Easy,’ he replied. ‘You don’t want this on camera, I’m sure.’

The two artists had barely walked into a lone passage when Dame elbowed him to talk. So the 24-year-old dude wouldn’t take chances.

But then he looked round and it was them alone. So he leaned into his partner and smiled. ‘It’s gonna work. That’s what I think!’

Dame pulled back to shove something different in his calm face. It was her phone screen popping trolls from the live stream.

‘You think it'll work... with these lousy brats all over? With all these girls trolling me?’

She was suddenly getting on edge.

‘No, take the phone and scroll through yourself! You won’t be saying things will work, that way!’

Richard swallowed, staring at her. Then he brushed the phone off his face the next moment.

‘Come on, leave net comments and focus here! It’s even your reaction ruining the plan.

‘Is it about those girls in the first place? Or are they who you came here for?

‘Look, I won’t take distractions. We go back now and work!’

But then again tempers were flying, so the lady was quite flustered.

‘I feel we should change our strategy.’

‘You mean we move to Plan B?’

‘Nope. Something different!’

‘Man, are you kidding me? Have you just gone insane?’

This was how fast things were crashing. But the lady had her rescue plan.

‘Look at me, Richard. If flowers and text can’t get them curious, I don’t see how this will do.’

The dude couldn’t hold it now. He gasped, ‘Dame, what are you doing to yourself? What are you doing to us?’

The girl only stood and sighed. ‘If men can only listen!’

Now Richard puffed a breath to calm himself. He shrugged the shoulders. ‘Okay, let’s hear you.’

The young lady stepped back and cleared her throat. Then she drove the talk her way.

‘Hey! You know why I’m awkward with you? We ain’t close.

‘You know why we ain’t seeing each other yet? You ain’t my style.

‘Same goes for you, Richard.

‘Then who’s my star crush? It’s Nile. And who’s your ideal type? Vickie...

‘Let our fans go mad, and we’ll get them get down in days!’

The young man stood there completely lost for words.

He was talking high the moment before, now he could barely talk. His partner wowed him so much he was knocked out of sense.

Suddenly he lost control and rushed to kiss her.

Richard grabbed his partner, wrapping his arms round her. But Dame pushed him away and coughed.

‘You don’t want this on camera, I’m sure!’

‘Oh you got me there!’ he laughed, pulling back.

Dame reacted different. ‘Well, I don’t know what you talkin’ bout, Mr Rich Hard.’

The dude smiled. ‘I guess we’re back to business!’

That day when the artists returned on screen, they set fire to dry grass.

Sons of the Flaming Throne 2 – Ch. 20 | KT OLLA

DAVID had been reigning for about forty years already. And in those years of his reign in Israel, soldiers have stood and fallen for him. The warlord had conquered lands, conquered nations. He’d taken territories, subdued enemies. Yet as the monarch grew older and nations bowed to him, there remained no wars to fight; and so his valiant men had nothing doing. His soldiers settled in families and kept livestock. They became shepherds and keepers of vines. The great ones among them got involved in public duties and administration. Still, there were a few who didn’t change with the changing tide. And chief among them was Joab, commander of the army. No, it wasn’t that the man didn’t settle down with family or other civil matters. But Joab wasn’t quite settled enough when it came to his heart and attitude. The old man had been quite loyal to David through the long years. But ever since the time that wars were done with, he had lost his sense of purpose. Joab wasn’t all that interested in n...

ABISHUM wasn’t done speaking. So she picked up on the matter as things were bound to change. She spoke: ‘See, it was a bedroom cry for Aleph. But not until the day things were shoved in her face… ‘And that day she gave up on hoping! ‘Well, what Aleph thought was the reason why Beth couldn’t marry, was different from what it was with people. ‘She used to think it was because there was no man in her house to ask the daughter from. As is our customary practice in Israel.  ‘But when a drunken man shoved it in her face one night, it hurt her too much what people say. ‘“No one will marry your daughter, woman! Why will anyone do? When death hides in her bosom like it hid in yours. Or why did your husband die? ‘“Look, if you don’t know it – your family is cursed! You only have one child in a nation of plenty. ‘“God has prospered Israel with many children like the sea sand. But what do your family bear? Only one! ‘“So, who will want your cursed daughter for his son to love? You really don’t...

Sons Of The Flaming Throne – Ch.50 (Final Episode) | KT OLLA

PRINCE S’alom was beaten once; and then a second time. It was by two things that baffle the mind. For not only was he shocked that his men kept running for their lives. As they fled when they were chased past; and he wished they could stop to help. But now he was even more dazed when he saw that his father’s men left him hanging. He realized that those boys weren’t sent to kill him. Yes, the Third One knew this from the start. That if David had wanted him dead, he’d have been long dead and buried. Now it was clear that he’d been taking advantage of the just man’s goodwill. And this he knew himself. The prince faced this truth; so it knocked him off that David was still being kind. No, he’d so taken things for granted. Therefore, it happened that one of the chasers who ran past returned to find Joab when he saw the prince hanging. He told the captain what he saw and assured him the prince wasn’t dead. Now when the general saw that the boy didn’t kill him, he went all mad and furious. ‘W...
