PORAH delivered her news to the Seventh Prince. She shared that tiding, that shock about the Fourth One’s coronation.
Truly, the maiden’s words called for urgent plans, as her words could stir fire in the soul.
But nothing altered Solomon’s quietness. He heard and smiled, and dismissed the girl.
Porah was surprised but not quite much, as she’d heard an earful about the prince called Peaceful.
She’d heard he wouldn’t flinch nor fear at anything that made men panic. As the people said, he was like water... like the still clear waters. Or like the steady pour of showers in a flood.
So in that instant when the Seventh flaunted his grace, the Egyptian lass couldn’t help but fall for him anew. She lingered when he dismissed her and wished he could ask her in.
Solomon had stood at his door throughout the whole talk. He’d held the door open midway and had neither stepped out nor stepped in.
But then already, he was stepping back inside.
Porah glared at the man that had never seen fear, then she took her own courage to the limit.
She held the door herself with a small grip. Then she whispered and said, ‘Please!’
It was in one moment that everything else stopped. All motion and emotion stopped to bow. And two young hearts skipped a beat.
But things stopped in one tiny moment. For the next instant the man yanked the door off her slender grip, and shut himself in.
He knew that game so much. He knew it all too much to fear.
Now the fearless nature which rumours held about the prince, was only a perspective of him. The man most times wasn’t on top of his situations.
Yet his focus always on what mattered was that thing that made him stay fearless and great. As it was the case with the whole matter on ground.
Solomon turned back to the report he heard as he entered his house. He knew already about the Fourth One’s plan to rule, and nothing of the conspiracy was new to him.
Yes, he’d made his servants report to him about his rival’s struggle for power. Yet he’d feared to go out and fight for it.
The prince had watched how the Third One did so and fell. So he knew that wasn’t the way to go.
Even still, Solomon wanted the throne like the others wanted it, as he’d just heard the news which his servants hadn’t reported. The news that the crown was going to the Fourth.
Now his heart went up in a tempest and he feared for what was coming. But nobody saw the young man’s fears, for all that people could see was a man without a soul.
But no, he’d got fear in his soul. He’d got fear as his best caution.
So right there in the secrecy of his house, he fell on his face and cried.
He called to the help in time of trouble.
